We understand that ordering these can be overwhelming if you don't work in construction everyday. If you have any questions please reach out to us, we are here to help!
FOR ORDERING: Please give the measurements of your wood section below (See second picture for details)
-Choose the Thickness of the bracket you want - We have two thicknesses available 12ga or 1/4
-Choose the height you want your bracket to be
-Choose the width that you want your bracket to be
IN THE NEXT STEPS YOU WILL BE MEASURING THE WOOD SECTION FOR THE FAN BRACKET TO FIT IN
-Give Dimension A: Bottom Cord width - See second picture for detail
-Give Dimension B: King Post Width - See second picture for detail
-Give Dimension C: Web Post Width - See second picture for detail
-Give Angle D: Angle of Web Post - See second picture for detail and measuring method - Also check out our video blogs for details on how to measure for this
-Give Dimension E: Web Post furthest distance from edge of King Post - See pic
If you watch the video and still have questions let us know and we can help.
- Finished in a super tough UV-resistant baked on powder coat matte black paint rated for outdoor use, unless bare metal option is chosen.
- Holes large enough for 1/4" or 5/16" Lags - sold separately - If you need a different hole size, please let us know and we can accommodate.
We do not have the edges of the metal extend to the edge of the board. Typical edge is 1/4" for 3-1/2" boards or less, and 1/2" edge for >3-1/2" boards - This is because you will want that if there is any angle that isn't quite right or if board widths vary. These would cause problems if the bracket extends to the edge.
Fan brackets are a perfect touch to your exposed beams. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing but they also add additional support to your beams. These brackets should not be used solely for structural purposes, please consult a local contractor to make sure they follow your local codes.

Excellent service and great product!
It looks great and well made. I have to wait until spring to really use it. I did put it on the outside post loved the look it gives the post. I have lights on the other post but one didn’t fit on the one closest to the house this crab makes a finished look. Would recommend it
Very well crafted and the powder coating makes my eagle mailbox post decorative addition look amazing. I'm proud to have it enhancing the overall appearance of my mailbox. Thank you Madison Iron & Wood!

Absolutely love these post caps. The quality and workmanship is outstanding. The instructions provided were extremely helpful as we installed these on older posts and after following the instructions they fit perfectly. Would definitely purchase from these folks again. Definitely recommend to others. A 5 star experience from start to finish.
Great
My husband and I are very pleased with the Squirrel post caps. They really enhance our back deck; they look really classy. And, the workmanship is excellent! Rebecca W.
Beautiful panels! Great communication. Thanks so much.
I ordered some hummingbird post caps and plain post caps in the same color - navy blue. The hummingbird caps will look great in my pollinator garden - and the plain ones will be used to cap off the posts for my sailcloth canopy. I know that these are unique products - both high quality and in a variety of designs to complement different landscapes while actually protecting the tops of my 4x4 posts. I also appreciate the fact that coordinating screws are provided.
The product is well made and the ordering process was easy. We will certainly consider using this company for future needs
Excellent product and shipping.
I used the plates to splice two short 4 x 6s together to make four foot post. The plates worked perfectly and added an interesting detail.
Amazing craftsmanship! Perfect birthday gift
Airborne Master Parachutist Wings Personalized Metal Sign with Rank and Name
This our new garden area; we are calling it "the Final Frontier" because it is the last available space on our 1 acre. It has always been a field of a terrible invasive weed that has been hard to keep under control, let alone get rid of. But we did finally get it out. I designed the hard-scape and chose and planted the plants. We wanted all the things this type of setting should have: firepit, tree of life metal sculpture, fountain and windchimes. Your post cap is perfect at the top of the windchime post featuring a hummingbird, as the flowers will attract many.
I ordered 5 trotting horses in matte black. They are for a new fence along the side of my front yard. They look great!!!!

I ordered a rail panel to use as wall art. I ordered mine unfinished and will allow it to naturally rust to a beautiful patina. It is very well made with precise cuts and no sharp edges. It arrived quickly and well packaged. Very happy with my purchase!
Great quality and look. Bought for a friend whose flag has been broken for years and happens to own & loves golden retrievers.
Capping off our garden fence. Planning to trim the cap base. The red color makes it pop and goes with the patio chairs.
Easy to order and time frame was excellent. Product came through well packed/protected, as advertised. Very pleased.
