Joist Hangers

Our Collection of Joist Hangers

We offer a variety of joist hangers suited for a variety of uses.

Face Mount Joist Hangers

These are our standard and most popular joist hangers because of their holding strength and aesthetic appeal. Main uses are for supporting floors, decks, beams, and other general framing structures.

Concealed Joist Hangers

Much like our face mount hangers, but the flange mounts are designed to be hidden behind the support beam. This is designed for those who aren't in love with the industrial finish of a typical hanger.

Angled Joist Hangers

Designed to hold angled beams and joists. We offer hangers that hold up and down rood pitches and side angled joists.

Knife Plate Joist Hangers

Our knife plates are made to be almost completely hidden. Designed for an easy installation of a joist or beam to sit up against the side of a post. This option does require a few extra cuts to the beam.

Why Use a Joist Hanger?

Joist hangers a very important structural member of any timber frame building. Joist hangers not only add a ton of strength to timber connections, but it can add an aesthetic appeal to unappealing areas. Metal brackets are a great way to cover seams and joints and leave a more finished look.

Joist hangers come in all different shapes and sizes because they all serve different purposes. We designed our hangers to be decorative joist hangers, but they can also add some needed strength.

What Size Joist Hanger Should You Get?

The most important thing to keep in mind is whether your wood is true sized or nominal size. (for more information on true vs nominal sized wood please read this article) Obviously, if you have a 2x4 sized joist you should navigate to any 2x4 joist hanger. But if you accidentally buy a true sized joist hanger instead of a nominal sized joist hanger, it could be up to 5/8" larger than the size you needed, and vice versa.

We have provided imaged on each joist hanger listing to help you determine if you are ordering the correct size.

How to Install a Joist Hanger

Installing a Joist hanger is simple. The ideal way to install a hanger is by fastening it into the wall first (or wherever you are connecting the supported joist to). Once your hanger is secured to the wall, you can slide the joist into the bracket and fasten it into place.

Some hangers are more complicated to install than others. Just remember to fasten screws in the areas that won't be accessible after the joist is set into place.
