I purchased the 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" Heron post cap. It is absolutely beautiful. I did have to do a significant about of sanding to make it fit. I liked it so much that I ordered another one.

Tired of looking at your plain old wood mailbox post while everyone else has a beautiful looking mailbox post? Why let the first thing friends, family, and neighbors see in front of your beautiful property be an eye sore? It doesn't take much to turn the plain into interesting. This will be one of the best outdoor decorative items that you purchase. It includes a bracket made from 1/4" x 1-1/4" solid steel with an amazingly crafted double S scroll banded and welded together. It also comes with two large heavy duty fleur-de-lis side pieces to dress both sides of your post and a heavy duty twisted cannonball to top your post. All parts come with a super heavy duty powder coat finish so it doesn't rust or fade like other cast iron, and it comes with matching rust resistant powder coated hardware.
This kit is shown on a plain mailbox post (NOT included) that can be bought from any hardware store and it looks exceptional after a coat of Provincial Stain and the accessory kit made by Madison Iron and Wood. It took a total of 10 minutes to put the hardware on and VOILA! an amazing looking conversation piece and it doesn't look like the plain old cheap plastic mailbox everybody else has. Also, if your post is flimsy, this angle bracket will sturdy things up when properly installed.

Just newly landscaped and fenced a new property, still a work in progress but my landscaper suggested adding fence post caps and so I did a random internet search which led me to Madison. So glad I did. I think it elevated my new cedar & hog wire fence. These are quality caps. You may not be able to see from the photo, but on the very back gate, I installed the red dog bone caps which are adorable...this area is technically my dog run so added those for fun.

I purchased 10 different post caps and 21 total. They all came in perfect condition-well wrapped and not a scratch on them. Installed them all easily following the video instructions. They have only been up 2 hours and I received several compliments. Would highly recommend them to anyone. PS. I appreciate the extra screws you sent since I lost one in the bushes!

The tolerance on a post is sloppy. The tolerance on these caps is very tight. Get yourself a sharp chisel. You may need to shave some wood. They look good. I am curious to see how they wear over the course of years with exposure to the elements.
