I used the plates to splice two short 4 x 6s together to make four foot post. The plates worked perfectly and added an interesting detail.

This is the only true 6x6 in cover that looks like aged copper or aged metal. It is heavy duty iron. All new copper comes with a lacquer so it stays shiny. These look great on my fence. Ordering 14 more.
